This morning while we were getting ready for work Valencia kicked back in her chair and read a book.

Went to IKEA today to get Valencia a chair to sit on, she's really into sitting on stuff lately. Picked up a bonus tunnel for her to play with at Grandpa and Noni's.

Corn Roast Fest 2012

Valencia enjoyed her 1st parade this morning with Chris and Calea. Flag flying, candy catching and waving like a royal. She loved every second of it

Lunch

Pumpkin sandwich, cheese and her new favorite peas. Valencia hated peas until we started calling them balls, now she can't get enough.

What ya doin'

Valencia does all kinds of stuff these days. She is definitely eating a lot, still kinda picky but getting better. She will eat almost anything if you put parmesan cheese on it. Her once tentative walk has turned into a laughter fueled run. Her vocabulary is really coming around she says all kinds of funny stuff and does an outstanding elephant impersonation. Naps and bedtime a no longer a struggle, more like her favorite part of the day. When you ask her if she wants to go nite nite she'll stop what she's doing crawl up the stairs and is asleep within minutes. She enjoys swimming with Noni and Grandpa even swims underwater. When you ask her for a hug she throws in a bonus kiss. Can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring.

After dinner Valencia likes to go out on the deck and watch the neighbor kids jump on the trampoline. She thinks it's hilarious.

A little Walter is bathin' on the driveway in a puddle of old rain.
Grandpa's Jeep honks and swerves and almost hits a squirrel.
The squirrel gets crazy eyed and zippers back and forth across the pavement.
Talk about close calls.

At the park

Valencia and I went to the park for a bit this afternoon. We went up the slide down the slide, up the slide down the slide, up the slide down the slide. You get the picture. Anyway I put this pic on the blog because it's the best representation of how tall she is getting. Ok so there's nothing in the pic to judge her tallness against but believe me she's getting taller.

Grammy

Grammy and Penny are in town for a few days to see a show and play with one happy little Valencia.

All in a row

This morning Valencia was playing with Michaela's nail polish. She carried one at a time around to the far side of our bed. Not as perfectly straight or spaced as her cousin Laz but something tells me it won't be long before everything has a spot and were gonna be in trouble if we don't do it right.

Extra picky

No sneaking anything passed Valencia tonight. She took time to examine every bite before she put it in her mouth

Head for the hills

We get so caught up in the everyday that we often forget the Rockies are in our backyard. We took advantage of living in such a wonderful place and headed up for a nice drive and a picnic. Along the way we stopped to stretch our legs at one of Michaela's favorite churches.

Summer fun

Another 90+ degree day so Michaela and Valencia hit up the park with Charlie and Cassidy.

She's got style

Every morning while we get ready for work Valencia runs all over our room. She always goes in our closet and shuts the door, one of us will eventually knock and she will open it. What's behind the door is different every time. This morning was a mad scramble to find a phone and snap a picture.

Valencia makes some good animal noises. Her best one is an elephant, thankfully she does a pretty good monkey as well because elephants are very large and difficult to carry.
